Halloween Horror Nights is FINALLY HERE!
We’ve loved seeing the spooky season (but a very toned-down spooky in comparison to what we’re about to talk about) arrive in Disney World for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but if you love TRUE spooky vibes, then you’re likely really looking forward to Halloween Horror Nights (HHN). If you’ve never been though, or you need a refresher, here’s your one-stop-shop for what you need to know about this year’s event!
Grabbing Your Ticket
Let’s start with the basics! Halloween Horror Nights runs Wednesday-Sunday nights August 30th-November 3rd, 2024. The park will close early for regular guests who don’t have an after-hours ticket, and HHN officially runs from 6:30PM-2AM. We recommend arriving around 45 minutes to an hour before the official start time because gates tend to open early — we’ve seen as early as 5:30PM before! Nights are known to sell out, so be sure to grab your tickets ahead of time ASAP.
Speaking of tickets, there are a few different types to choose from!
- Halloween Horror Nights Single-Night Ticket (starts at $82.99 per person): Allows access to the event on one night of your choosing (made at the time of booking)
- Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass (Starts at an ADDITIONAL $129.99 per person): Can be purchased ON TOP of a regular ticket. This allows you to skip the line for every haunted house once throughout the night!
- Halloween Horror Nights R.I.P. Tour (Starts at an ADDITIONAL $359.99 per person): An add-on that allows you a look behind the scenes at all the different Haunted Houses and HHN experiences
- Halloween Horror Nights Behind-the-Screams: Unmasking the Horror Tour (Starts at $99.99 per person): Allows access into the park to tour 3 or 6 haunted houses and get a look behind the scenes during the day — valid park admission NOT required
- Scream Early Ticket:Enter the park from 3PM-5PM and then chill in a Stay & Scream area until the event begins. This is an additional charge on top of a regular Horror Nights ticket.
Multi-night tickets are also an option, but they sell out very quickly each year!
- The Rush of Fear Pass: Provides entry to the first 18 event nights.
- The Frequent Fear Pass: Access to every Sunday through Thursday, plus the first weekend.
- The Frequent Fear Plus Pass: Includes entry every Sunday through Friday, plus the first and last Saturday.
- The Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass: Grants access to EVERY night of the event, along with complimentary regular parking after 5 p.m. on all event nights.
Haunted Houses and Scare Zones
The main draw of the event is the scariest, of course, which are the Haunted Houses and Scare Zones! This year, there are 10 different Haunted Houses to explore — be sure you prioritize which one(s) are at the top of your must-do list because these lines can get LONG. Without an Express Pass, it’s often very difficult to make it through all the houses before the end of the night.
This year’s houses are:
- A Quiet Place
- Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
- Insidious: The Further
- Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines
- Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America
- Slaughter Sinema 2
- The Museum: Deadly Exhibits
- Major Sweets Candy Factory
- Goblin’s Feast
- Triplets of Terror
As for the Scare Zones, there are 5 to experience around the park:
- Enter the Blumhouse
- Duality of Fear
- Demon Queens
- Swamp of the Undead
- Torture Faire
But that’s far from all!
Additional Entertainment
Don’t forget that some of Universal Orlando’s most popular rides are open during the night for you to experience with little to no wait! These include:
- Revenge of the Mummy
- Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts
- MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™
- Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
You’ll also find some amazing live entertainment around the park during the event, like the Death Eaters wandering around The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley. Don’t be fooled — they’re SCARY!
You can also watch the Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus show at select times each night! When describing this show, Universal says, “Step right up to a dark circus, a new nightmare that carries with it a sinister curse. Get trapped in a thrilling spectacle of pyro and aerialists to the beat of pulse pounding rock rhythms.”
